Red Chair Opens

The Red Chair opened today and the skiing was better than expected. The conditions portrayed in this video clip are not Red Mountain marketing department material but the skiing was actually better than it looks in the clip. Skiing down the Cliff on Red Mountain are Todd Loukras and Jeff Amentea (no poles) from the Freeski Academy. On skis the bushes sticking out were hardly noticable. Dylan gets the credit for the camera work (not Mark, Mark did not take the video) Camera work by Dylan!

Why don't they summer-groom that? Those twigs have to be over 1m. I guess you could say that's just tree skiing Red style.

Actualy they have summer groomed it this year (the area above the camera). It just comes in so fast (the alder). My guess is that those twigs are about 30-40 cm high, it just shows how little snow we are skiing on.
